Buyback Terms
Rates by store, how long the window runs, condition grading, credit vs transfer.
1 · Published rates by store
Graded cards: 80% of the FMV we publish for that card on the day we receive it. When you ask, we show you an estimate from that day's FMV; the final figure is set from the FMV on the day the card reaches us, so it can be higher or lower than the estimate. A card in your vault is already with us, so it is valued the day you ask. The FMV is the market comparable — the median of completed sales — adjusted by how strongly those sales agree with one another; both figures and the one line of arithmetic between them are on the card's page. Where a card has no sample grade yet there is no FMV to apply, and it is paid on its market comparable.
Harmony Lux: 70% of what you paid — a fixed amount, because Lux has no comparables feed behind it to track.
Harmony Fitness is not a buyback store. Equipment is excluded, and it is excluded on the product page too rather than only here.
2 · The buyback window
12 months from the delivery date.
On cards the RATE is what is fixed, not the amount. Ask a year from now and you get 80% of what the card is worth a year from now — more if it appreciated, less if it did not. We publish the comparable and the sales behind it on every card page, so you can check the figure before you ask and again when you do.
A card with no current comparable has no publishable buyback figure. We quote it by hand rather than off a stale number, and the product page says so instead of showing one.
3 · Condition grading
A graded card must be in the same sealed slab, with the same certification number, uncracked and legible. The grade is the grader's statement and we do not re-grade it.
A Lux piece is inspected against the appraisal it shipped with. Normal wear is expected and does not reduce the figure; damage, a missing component or an unauthorised service does, and we tell you by how much before anything is final.
4 · Store credit versus bank transfer
Taken as Harmony Cash instead of dollars, a buyback pays 90% of the FMV rather than 80%, and a card we did not sell you pays 72% rather than 70%. Credit costs us less than money does, and each leg is its own published rate rather than a bonus on the other.
Anything an order pays for in Harmony Cash, wholly or partly, comes back in Harmony Cash only, under this buyback and from the vault alike: store credit is not turned into money on the way back. An order paid that way before this term was published keeps the dollar option it was sold with.
Bank transfer pays the plain figure and arrives in three to five business days.
Both are offered at equal weight on the request screen, except beside something paid for in Harmony Cash, where the transfer is not offered. This is a choice, not a funnel, and store credit never expires.
5 · How to request a buyback
Sign in and open Request a buyback from your account. Everything you have bought is listed with its rate and the months it has left; anything not eligible is listed too, greyed, with the reason.
Once a request is accepted we send the intake address. You arrange and insure the shipment yourself, and nothing is deducted from the payout for postage — you are paying the carrier, not us. Payment issues once the item arrives and matches its condition on record.
6 · What is not eligible
Anything you did not buy from us. We do buy those — at 70% of the FMV through Sell to us — but that is a purchase, not a buyback, and it carries a different rate because we are authenticating something we have never seen.
Anything already refunded, anything outside the 12-month window, and Fitness equipment.
A card bought from another collector on the Market, whatever its origin: the buyback belongs to whoever bought the card from us. In the vault we buy it back only through a Harmony offer, when we make one, and no plan raises it; posted home, it is bought like any card sent to us. A card bought that way before this term was published keeps the buyback printed on its order.
A card that has left your vault, sold back to us or to another collector. Its buyback ends with the sale.
