Cards: 80% of the FMV on the day we receive the card, or 90% taken as Harmony Cash, for 12 months. The FMV is the market comparable — the median of completed sale-days — adjusted by how strongly those sales agree; a card with no sample grade yet is paid on its comparable. Two things follow. It is the FMV and not our asking price, so a card we listed above the market does not carry an inflated promise. And it is the figure on the day the card reaches us, not the day of the purchase — ask near the end of the window and you get 80% of what the card is worth when it arrives, which pays you more if it appreciated and less if it did not. The figure you see when you ask is an estimate from that day; a card in your vault is already with us, so it is valued the day you ask. We publish the comparable and the sales behind it on every card page, so you can check the number before you ask and again when you do. Lux: 70% of what you paid, for 12 months, a fixed amount — Lux has no comparables feed behind it yet.
A card bought from another collector on the Market carries no such buyback, whatever its origin: it belongs to whoever bought the card from us. In your vault we buy it back only through a Harmony offer, in Harmony Cash, when we make one, and no plan raises it; its page says what a card brings before you pay.
A buyback also ends when its card leaves your vault, sold back to us or to another collector on the Market. While the card is on sale it waits: take it off sale and it is there again.
These are guarantees, not estimates, and they appear on the product page before checkout rather than in the terms afterwards. If the market has moved up, you are free to ignore the buyback and sell the item to us at market instead.
